Stepping Out
An evening of song and dance with Tommy Tune
The Broadway legend performs in Garden City this weekend
Known as a "Living Legend," Tommy Tune continues to enthrall audiences.

In Concert

Tommy Tune
The Broadway icon graces the Adelphi University stage in his solo cabaret show, “Taps, Tunes and Tall Tales.” A nine-time Tony Award-winner, Tune takes a song-and-dance stroll through his career as he enters his 55th year in show business — from his arrival in New York as a fresh-faced kid from Texas through his most popular roles on stage and screen, to his ascension as one of the country’s most accomplished director-choreographers. Accompanied by Michael Biagi, his pianist and musical director for nearly four decades, Tune offers up a musical journey through personal renditions of standards by Irving Berlin, Kurt Weill, Cole Porter, Johnny Mercer, Burt Bacharach, the Gershwins, and more in his ode to Broadway.
Saturday, May 10, 8 p.m. $50 and $45. Adelphi University Performing Arts Center, 1 South Ave., Garden City. (516) 877-4000 or www.aupac.adelphi.edu.

On Stage
Really Really
Playwright Paul Downs Colaizzo’s explosive look at ‘Generation Me’, “Really, Really,” comes to the Nassau Community College stage, presented by the Department of Theatre and Dance. The play, which garnered much attention during its off-Broadway run last year, takes a vivid, disturbing look at Generation Me and the quest for success at all costs. Winner of the Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding New Play, “Really Really” focuses on a group of college students in the aftermath of a wild campus party, during which something may or may not have happened behind a closed door between a privileged male student and a poor but ambitious female student. The morning-after gossip turns ugly as self-interest trumps all, and it’s difficult to determine just whom the real predator might be.
Thursday through Saturday, May 8-10, 8 p.m.; Sunday, May 11, 3 p.m. $9, $7 seniors. Nassau Community College’s Little Theatre, Garden City. (516) 572-7676.
