Keith Gamache: As a lifelong educator I bring twenty years of teaching experience to this board. I’ve worked with my principal and another colleague delivering professional development in Differentiated Instruction and Lesson Study for seven years at South Side High School and traveled to the Leland and Gray School district in Vermont to provide similar training for two summer sessions for their staff. I’m well informed about current education reforms and most importantly believe in public education and the importance of quality neighborhood schools.

What are some of the challenges you think you will face
in your next term?

NS: The state government continues to cut state funding for the last four years. Our school district must do more with less. The State Education Department continues to pressure CORE implementation on our district. We will need to work hard to phase in these changes in a more gradual way that allows our teachers and students time to adjust to this new curriculum.
