Crime Watch: East Rockaway, Lynbrook

People named in Crime Watch items as having been arrested and charged with violations or crimes are only suspected of committing those acts of which they are accused. They are all presumed to be innocent of those charges until and unless found guilty in a court of law.

 

Arrests

At 4:55 p.m. on Feb. 23, a 33-year-old man, of Hempstead, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Tinted Windows and Tinted Windshield on Peninsula Boulevard in Lynbrook. The defendant was also charged with two open warrants for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, one from Hempstead Village Court and one from Lynbrook Village Court.

A 34-year-old man, of Lawrence, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Suspended Registration and Uninsured Motor Vehicle on Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook at 6:36 p.m. on Feb. 23.

At 10:50 p.m. on Feb. 24, a 16-year-old male from Lynbrook, was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and Criminal Possession of Marihuana on Merrick Rd.

A 51-year-old man of Rockville Centre, was arrested and charged with three counts of Felony Driving While Intoxicated, two counts of misdemeanor Aggravated Unlicensed Operation and one count each of Felony Driving While Intoxicated Operate a Motor Vehicle Wrong Way on One Way Street and Unlicensed Operation on Broadway in Lynbrook at 11:16 p.m. on Feb. 27.


At 6:46 a.m. on Feb. 27, a 47-year-old man, of Far Rockaway, was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance on Atlantic Avenue in Lynbrook. The defendant was also charged with an open warrant from the New York Police Department for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance.


A 28-year-old man, of Rosedale, was arrested and charged with Assault, Criminal Obstruction of Breathing and Endangering the Welfare of a Child for an incident that occurred in the parking area of 50 Broadway in Lynbrook at 1:15 p.m. on Feb. 28.
Burglary/Grand larceny

Burglary

A white gold diamond ring and a hold Hamilton watch were reported stolen from a home on Grace Avenue in Lynbrook at 9:20 a.m. on Feb. 21. The burglary is believed to have occurred between Jan. 7 and Feb. 20. The total value of the stolen items was $5,800
