Crime Watch: East Rockaway, Lynbrook

People named in Crime Watch items as having been arrested and charged with violations or crimes are only suspected of committing those acts of which they are accused. They are all presumed to be innocent of those charges until and unless found guilty in a court of law.

Arrests

At 2:40 p.m. on March 2, A 30-year-old woman, of Bayside, was arrested and charged with Unlawfully Dealing with a Child at Lynbrook Wine and Liquor, located at 393A Sunrise Highway. Cheung sold a one liter bottle of Skyy Vodka to a 19-year-old undercover agent of the Lynbrook Police Department.

A 53-year-old, of Valley Stream, was arrested and charged with Unlawfully Dealing with a Child at ARA Convenience Store, located at 186 Hempstead Avenue in Lynbrook. Saleh sold six cans of Coors Beer to a 19-year-old undercover agent of the Lynbrook Police Deparment at 6:30 p.m. on March 2.

At 8:45 a.m. on March 3, a 51-year-old man, of Levittown, was arrested and charged with Felony Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Improper Registration Plates, Unregistered Motor Vehicle, Uninsured Motor Vehicle and Uninspected Motor Vehicle on Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook..

On March 4, at 8:24 a.m., a 37-year-old, of Roosevelt, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation and Operate without Headlights while Inclement Weather on Peninsula Boulevard in Lynbrook. Bautista was found to have an open warrant from Nassau County First District Court for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Uninspected Motor Vehicle and Unlicensed Operation.

A 27-year-old woman, of Valley Stream, was arrested and charged with Felony Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Speeding in a School Zone, Unregistered Motor Vehicle, Uninsured Motor Vehicle and Uninspected Motor Vehicle on Merrick Road in Lynbrook at 1:45 p.m. on March 9.


Attempted ID theft

* A resident reported that an unknown person attempted to file their tax return at 8:05 p.m. on March 6.

ID theft

*A resident reported that nine unauthorized withdrawal were made totaling $1,171.50 from their Bethpage Federal Credit Union debit account at 2:00 p.m. on March 9.

Robbery
At 9:42 p.m. on March 4, three males reportedly approached a resident from behind while walking northbound on Union Avenue in Lynbrook. One punched him in the side of his head and then placed him in a chokehold, forcing him to the ground. The victim then had his hat pulled over his face as the males stole the victim’s Iphone 5, and a black leather wallet containing two credit cards. The victim then fled northbound on Union Avenue. All of the males are described as males, aged 17- to 21-years-old, and possibly Hispanic.

Petit Larceny

A Samsung Galaxy tablet was reported stolen from a residence on Wymoning Avenue in Lynbrook at 3:50 p.m. on March 9. The total lost was $230.
