Crime Watch: East Rockaway, Lynbrook

Arrests
A 28-year-old woman, of East Rockaway, was arrested for shoplifting from Kohl’s at the Green Acres Mall on March 28 at 5 p.m.

A 19-year-old man, of Lynbrook, was arrested for shoplifting from JCPenney at the Roosevelt Field Mall on March 29 at 2:30 p.m.

A 29-year-old, of Jamaica, Queens, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, aggravated unlicensed operation, unlicensed driver and improperly displayed plate on Merrick Road on March 31 at 10:05 a.m.

Danyi Shen, 35, of Lynbrook, was arrested and charged with criminal contempt and menacing on Bixley Heath on March 31 at 9 p.m.

On April 1 at 12:05 a.m., a 27-year-old, of Jamaica, Queens, was located, arrested and charged with three charges of criminal contempt.

A 21-year-old man, of Lynbrook, was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle without an interlock device, aggravated unlicensed operation two counts, failure to signal, and operating a vehicle without insurance on Vincent Avenue on April 1 at 3:35 p.m.

On April 2 at 4:18 a.m., a 29-year-old man, of Wyandanch, was arrested and charged with driving a vehicle while intoxicated, aggravated unlicensed operation two counts, failure to signal, and lane violation on Sunrise Highway.

A 53-year-old man, of Lynbrook, was arrested and charged with petit larceny and criminal mischief on Merrick Road on April 4 at 9:50 a.m.

On April 4 at 5:10 p.m., a 24-year-old man, of Rockville Centre, was located, arrested and charged with an open Lynbrook warrant.


Burglary

At 5 p.m. on March 28 it was reported that someone broke a rear glass sliding door and entered an apartment on Broadway, and stole jewelry, handbags and electronics for a total loss of approximately $68,175. The damage to the door was estimated to be approximately $600. The incident occurred between 7:45 a.m. and 4:50 p.m. on March 28.


Criminal mischief
Two sections of a PVC fence were damaged on March 24 at 9 p.m. on Rose Lane in East Rockaway.

At 11:05 a.m. on March 29 a resident of Doxsey Place reported that the front hood of her 2013 Hyundai Sonata was scratched while parked outside her apartment. The total damage was approximately $500.

Petit larceny
At 1:35 p.m. on March 30 a UPS package was reported stolen from a front porch on Davison Avenue. The total loss is $223.93.

Identity theft
At 11:20 a.m. on April 3 it was reported that several fraudulent charges were made on the victim’s Macy’s credit card. On Jan. 4 it was charged $1,649.45, and on Feb. 12 it was charged $3,720.81 at a Macy’s in Flushing, Queens, for a total loss of $5,370.26.
