Crime watch: Lynbrook, East Rockaway

Arrests

On Jan. 24 at 2:05 p.m., a 35-year-old male from Valley Stream was arrested and charged with consuming an alcoholic beverage in public and false personation in the Lynbrook Long Island Rail Road platform waiting room.

A 34-year-old of Hempstead was arrested on Jan. 24 at 2:15 p.m. and charged with aggravated unlicensed operator, unlicensed driver and obstructed view on Denton Avenue.

Stemming from an accident that occurred on Nov. 6 on Union Avenue, a 37-year-old of Levittown was arrested on Jan. 24 at 5:52 p.m. and charged with leaving the scene of an accident.

A 38-year-old male of Hewlett was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operator, suspended registration, unlawful possession of marijuana and speeding and operating without insurance on Peninsula Boulevard on Jan. 25 at 2:42 a.m.

A 16-year-old from Valley Stream was arrested on Jan. 25 at 9:02 p.m., and charged with unlicensed operator, tailgating, unlawful possession of marijuana, lane violation, uninspected vehicle and operating without insurance on Peninsula Boulevard.

On Jan. 26 at 6:30 p.m., a 27-year-old from Oceanside was arrested on the Lynbrook Long Island Rail Road platform for possession of a controlled substance (heroin) and criminal possession of a hypodermic needle.

A 34-year-old of Hempstead, was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operator, unlicensed operator and faulty exhaust on Ocean Avenue on Jan. 26 at 6:30 p.m.

A 27-year-old male from Little Neck was arrested on Jan. 28 at 9:55 p.m. on Peninsula Boulevard and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, disobeying a traffic control device and an unregistered motor vehicle.

Criminal mischief

At 12:45 p.m. on Jan. 26, the driver and passenger sides of a 2015 Honda Accord were damaged. The vehicle was parked in a driveway on Irwin Court. Damages totaled about $7,000.

Theft

Two men backed a mini-van through the front glass doors of Smoker’s Choice on Sunrise Highway and then stole an unknown amount of merchandise from the building on Jan. 27 at 4 a.m. They were described as having dark complexions and wearing dark clothing.

Someone used another person’s identity and made several purchases at Music and Arts Centers on Jan. 27 at 5:50 p.m. Total fraudulent charges totaled $1,093.81.
