Marina Pointe set for construction in East Rockaway

Posted

With the demolition of the dilapidated Davison Boatyard marina structures completed, and the replacement of the old bulkhead almost done, construction of the new Marina Pointe East Rockaway on Ocean Avenue is expected to begin in a couple of months. Developed by The Beechwood Organization under the name Beechwood Atlantic Avenue LLC, the 84 suites and villas, offered with optional private boating slips, are touted as within walking distance to the East Rockaway Long Island Rail Road station, local shops and restaurants — and easy access to the beach.

“We are looking forward to Marina Pointe having a positive impact on the Village of East Rockaway,” said Beechwood’s founding principal, Michael Dubb. “We are transforming an outdated and storm-ravaged boatyard and marina into waterfront homes. In addition to providing more housing options for Long Islanders of all ages, it benefits local businesses. We are very excited to start construction and sales on this new development by mid-year.”

New floating docks are in the process of being installed, Dubb said, and grading of the site will be raised to make the development storm resilient.

“Marina Pointe is a community designed to appeal to buyers of all ages,” Dubb said. “The carefree, maintenance-free lifestyle is perfect for busy homeowners who don’t want to deal with snow removal and landscaping … the waterfront location is perfect for boating and water sport enthusiasts.” Dubb added that, to his knowledge, Marina Pointe is the first private investment in East Rockaway since Hurricane Sandy.
