Posted

Standing at a lectern while surrounded by dozens of community members at a ribbon cutting celebration for the new Daikin Comfort Design Center in Lynbrook on Nov. 21, President Taka Inoue expressed his gratitude and eagerness for the next chapter in the company’s storied history.
“Our hope is that we can help people achieve better indoor comfort and improve lifestyles,” he said. “Working together, we can move the discussion forward for sustainability and for the wellbeing of people everywhere.”
The new showroom features residential products from the largest heating, ventilation and air conditioning — or HVAC — manufacturer worldwide. The facility is the first of its kind for Daikin, which is celebrating 95 years in business this year.
Daikin Industries is headquartered in Osaka, Japan, and employs more than 70,000 people. In 2012, the company purchased Goodman Global Group, a leading manufacturer of residential HVAC in the U.S., and Daikin North America LLC was created. They built a state-of-the-art office, laboratory and showroom in Texas, and now have come to Lynbrook with their newest showroom.
Daikin uses “air intelligence” and sophisticated technology to heat and cool rooms. It is the world’s No. 1 air conditioning company, and its products are sold in more than 140 countries, including throughout North America. Since the early 1930s, the organization has worked to realize a better environment and quality of life through providing heating and cooling solutions and offering innovations in HVAC systems.

At the grand opening, dozens of people browsed the state-of-the-art showroom, asking questions to employees and learning more about the company. Among the notable attendees were Mayor Alan Beach, members of the village board, Hempstead Town Councilman Anthony D’Esposito, County Legislator William Gaylor and Chamber of Commerce President Steve Wangel.
John Fraser-Mifsud, Daikin’s North Division vice president, said he was thrilled with the turnout and thanked attendees for supporting Lynbrook’s newest business.
“This is so exciting and the buzz we’re feeling in the room right now as an organization, new to Long Island and new to this county, is absolutely exceptional,” he said. “We really do deeply appreciate everybody for joining us on this very special evening, so thank you very much.”
