Posted

It was a scary good time on Atlantic Avenue in Lynbrook on Sunday as the village hosted its annual Halloween Havoc event.

Family fun was on the agenda as dozens of young children showed off their Halloween costumes. Activities at the event included a spooky walk, , DJ, games, giveaways, bouncy rides and a costume parade at Earle Avenue parking field 8. In addition, magician John Turdo dazzled the audience with his magic show.

“It was the largest family turnout,” Mayor Alan Beach said.

Creative costumes on display included Mr. Met, a boy riding a dinosaur and an assortment of super heroes, witches and others.

There were a host of Halloween events in the village this year, including a Trunk or Treat event where children with food allergies went from car to car to collect toys and other non-food items and Everything Special Needs, an event that preached inclusion in trick-or-treating for people of all abilities. There was also Monster Dash 5K.

In East Rockaway, the village hosted a Halloween Fest on the waterfront on Oct. 26, sponsored by Reel. Activities at the event included pumpkin and face painting, a pumpkin patch, crafts, a costume party, entertainment by DJ Full_Splitz and cookie decorating.
