Homeless woman arrested for burglary in Lynbrook

A homeless woman was arrested on Nov. 3 at 12:42 a.m. for burglarizing a medical office in Lynbrook.

According to Nassau County police, officers responded to a burglary alarm at the medical offices at 185 Merrick Rd. Upon arrival, they saw that the front door was shattered and the cabinet drawers were open.

A search was conducted and Maria Campione, 19, who is homeless, was found hiding in the building. She was placed under arrest without incident.

Campione is charged with third-degree burglary and third-degree criminal mischief. She was scheduled to be arraigned on Nov. 3 at the First District Court in Hempstead.
