Chris, who graduated from Lynbrook High in 1993 and lives in Bellmore, wasn’t sure how people would respond, but was expecting 18 to 24 foursomes for the outing. More than a week before the event, however, 29 foursomes had signed up, and Chris was now preparing for as many as 36 groupings. Another 100 people had signed up for the reception.

“I’m hoping that this is going to be one of those special events that people that didn’t partake this year will say they need to be in it next year,” Chris said. “This is hopefully the first of many golf outings in my uncle’s name.”

The event begins at 10:30 a.m. with a brunch and registration. Golfers will begin teeing off at noon, and the reception will begin at 6 p.m. For more information about the outing or the scholarship fund, go to www.drbfund.org.
