Nassau County Firefighters Operation Wounded Warrior has announced that the Lynbrook Fire Department will host a community concert for the troops to benefit wounded warriors.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, Sept, 9 from 5 to 11 p.m. in the street in front of Rescue, Hook, Ladder and Bucket Company’s firehouse on Earle Avenue in Lynbrook. The firehouse is between Merrick Road and Sunrise Highway.

This year will mark the seventh annual fundraiser hosted by the LFD, which is a participating member of NCFF-OWW. The funds raised will go to aid wounded soldiers and Marines at the Northport VA Medical Center, and at hospitals and rehabilitation units along the East Coast.

The fundraiser will include music from bands Project and Moondance. The firefighters are requesting a $20 donation for admission, which includes food, soda and water.

There will also be an auction and many prize giveaways. JetBlue Airways, a sponsor for the evening, has donated tickets to be raffled off.

“We appreciate the efforts of the Lynbrook Fire Department for their continued support to help our charity, which was formed by Nassau volunteer firefighters in 2004 to help our wounded servicemen and women, “ said Joe O’Grady, NCFF-OWW chairman and a member of the Floral Park Fire Department.

NCFF-OWW is not affiliated with the Wounded Warrior Project.
