All Long Island highways and Nassau County roads closed
UPDATE, 10:30 p.m. Monday: As per an order of County Executive Edward Mangano, all roads in Nassau County are closed until further notice. The New York State Police announced that all highways in Nassau and Suffolk counties are closed as of 8 p.m. Due to the high probability of fallen trees and tree limbs blocking parkway lanes, troopers will be closing all parkways. This includes the Southern State, Northern State, Meadowbrook, Ocean, Loop, Wantagh, Sagtikos/Sunken Meadow, Robert Moses and Bethpage Parkway. It is unknown at this time when they will reopen. The State Police encourages all motorists to stay home. If travel is absolutely necessary, motorists will have to use other roadways.
