Elmont man charged with grand larceny

Nassau police report the arrest of an Elmont man on Monday Sept. 8, for grand larceny in Elmont.

According to detectives, during a routine check of pawn shops, a detective discovered multiple sales of jewelry by the defendant, Michael C. Lamarca, 37, of Eagle Avenue, to two separate pawn brokers in Nassau County. A subsequent investigation by the detective determined that as an employee of Gentil Moving Services, Lamarca removed assorted jewelry from victims and sold the items.

Lamarca was located leaving Enterprise Pawnbrokers in Elmont and placed under arrest without incident.

He is charged with two counts of fourth-degree grand larceny and petit larceny. He was scheduled to be arraigned on Sept. 9 at First District Court in Hempstead.
