GYO Celebrates the Holidays

Posted

Gateway Youth Outreach, Inc. held its Annual Children’s Holiday Party on Dec. 12 with great success and many happy children. The party was held at the Gotham Avenue School in Elmont with 325 children in attendance. The children were treated to many excellent activities including dancing, arts and crafts, games and were given pizza and soda. This was all made possible by a long list of donors and each child was admitted at no cost.

The highlight of the afternoon was a visit from Santa Claus who mingled with the children and then took his seat to distribute a toy and candy canes to each one of those present. Santa listened to all those amazing “wish lists” that were shared and took pictures with each child who wanted one. Then it was off to his sleigh to head back to make more preparations for his Christmas deliveries.

Gateway Youth Outreach would like to thank the generous donors who made this Holiday Party possible: AARP of Elmont, Adelphi University Interns, Brian Nugent, Elmont Rotary, Bethpage Federal Credit Union, Capital One Bank, Chris Rosado, Cinelli’s Pizza, Councilman Ed Ambrosino, County Executive Ed Mangano and Toys for Tots, Diehl Aerospace Fasteners Inc., Eleanor and Angie DiMarco, Elmont Chamber of Commerce, Elmont Fire Department, Ralph Esposito, Elmont Kiwanis, Frank Hrbeck, Franklin Square Lions Club, Gotham Ave. School Principal Marshall Zucker and his custodial and security staff, Green Acres Mall, Joe Ruscillo, Joseph Cairo, Jr., Kitty Shukofsky, Mabel Johnston, Maggie Malito, Major Chuck Kilbride, Norma DeBartolo, North Valley Stream Republican Committee, P.C.
