Gas Station robbed in Elmont

Nassau County police are investigating a robbery that occurred on Monday, Nov. 23, at 9:25 P.M. in Elmont.

According to detectives, a white male entered the Shell gas station located at 1360 Hempstead Turnpike, walked behind the counter and verbally demanded money while simulating he had a handgun in his jacket pocket.

After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash the subject who was described as 5’8-10” tall, heavy set, wearing a black two hole knit mask and a black bubble style jacket fled on foot northbound on Covert Avenue. No injuries were reported to police.
