Gas station robbed at gunpoint
The Petro gas station on Hempstead Turnpike, in Elmont, was robbed by two men on Aug. 31 at 1 a.m., according to police.
The 4th Squad said that the men entered the gas station store and demanded money from the 30-year-old employee. One of the men was described as white and wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt, sweatpants and a mask. Police say he brandished a handgun and took an undetermined amount of money from the cash register.
The other man was described as white and wearing a light-colored sweatshirt and pants and a mask. Police said he stole five cartons of cigarettes.
The men fled the store on foot toward Clinton Street, according to police. No injuries were reported.
