As a Financial Advisor with her own Edward Jones branch, Mary Taylor, CRPC, AAMS, has been servicing clients in West Hempstead and the surrounding communities for the last 12 years. She opened her office in 2001. Educating the public in financial related topics is something she does as well, through speaking engagements and workshops at non-profit and civic organizations, senior centers, churches, schools and appearances on TV.

Most recently, Taylor’s focus has been on working with the over-65 population, helping individuals plan for retirement, in order to live comfortably. In addition to investments, she takes the route of asset protection, by offering Long Term Care, Long Term Disability, and other types of insurance. She frequently helps teachers retiring with pensions. Taylor also assists families planning for their children’s education. Setting up a 529 Plan is a popular choice. And unlike banks, Edward Jones can offer tax-free bonds.

Marie Taylor is a native of Jamaica, West Indies and a graduate of Pace University in New York. Prior to joining Edward Jones, she worked in the banking industry on the trading floor as Assistant Treasurer and Office Automation Specialist. She then spent five years at Nassau University Medical Center in the personnel department.

On becoming a broker for Edward Jones, she obtained state licenses to sell stocks, bonds, annuities, and life and health insurances. She holds the designations Accredited Asset Management Specialist (AAMS) and Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC). Over the years Taylor has won numerous Edward Jones Awards. In 2010, she received Limited Partnership with the company.

Taylor is on the Board of the West Hempstead Chamber of Commerce. Her memberships include Rotary International, Black Women Enterprise, National Association of Female Executives, and Caribbean American Chamber of Commerce. She is also on the Career Development Center Employer Advisory Committee of Kingsborough Community College, and was featured on Laura Pedersen’s “Your Money and Your Life,” on Oxygen TV.
