A store manager at Office Max, in Elmont, was charged with falsifying deposit records to steal more than $17,000 from the store.

A loss prevention manager discovered that beginning in April, Marc R. Galdass, 36, of Woodside, Queens, turned over less than the designated amount of deposit bags to the store’s armored car service, Brinks Armored Carrier, according to Nassau County police. Galdass was responsible for making the daily deposits.

Galdass allegedly falsified deposit log books in the store, at 1730 Hempstead Turnpike, to cover the thefts and made deposits directly to bank branches, which he was not authorized to do.

Galdass surrendered to police on July 8. He was charged with third-degree grand larceny; three counts of third-degree criminal possession of stolen property; two counts of first-degree falsifying business records; and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. He was arraigned that day at First District Court in Hempstead.
