The Seaford Fire Department honored the members of the Seaford Hook Ladder and Engine Company No. 1 at the Annual Memorial Services on Oct. 6.

The 166 departed members were eulogized at the ceremony. The Seaford Hook Ladder Engine Company No. 1 “have answered their last call since the inception of the department,” according to a department news release.

John Annitto, Chief of the Department from 1974 to 1976, was added to the company members this year. The master of ceremonies was once again former chief Wes Weeks, who has played the role in the services for many years. The EMT’s prayer was read by Lt. Tom Reid.

During the ceremony, each departed member’s name was read, projected on the TV screen and the department’s fire bell was struck each time a name was read. At the end of the service, a wreath was placed outside by the old fire bell, which no longer tolls. At the ceremony’s conclusion, T.J. White and Keith Lacoff played the pipe and drum.
