$380,000 in jewelry stolen in Lawrence

Two men allegedly stole jewelry valued at $380,000 from a Lawrence resident at 8:25 p.m. on Nov. 30, in Lawrence, according to police.

The man, 51, a jeweler, had returned home after a day of going to several jewelry stores across New York City, police said. He was walking up to the front door of his home, rolling the suitcase that contained the jewelry when the case taken from his hand by the two men, who were seen getting into a minivan on Meadow Lane by the man who then got into his car and tried to follow the van, but he lost sight of them, police said.
