The Lawrence-Cedarhurst American Legion Post #339 honored local veterans at the Lawrence Village Country Club on Sunday, marking the 62nd anniversary of the D-Day invasion of Normandy.

Former Staff Sgt. Albert "Goldie" Occhiuzzo, a World War II veteran lit a candle in memory of fallen soldiers. Harry Bellorini, left, of the Lawrence-Cedarhurst American Legion, helped organize the event.
