The New Plaza Beach Club in Atlantic Beach played host to the fifth annual Hewlett-Lawrence Soccer Club beach party last Friday.
Playing soccer on the beach, swimming, eating and buying and possibly winning raffle prizes were all part of the three and half hour event.
More than 700 children from three to 16 take part in the club. There are a dozen travel teams, a co-ed squad and the TOPSoccer program for children with special needs. Games are usually played at Lawrence and Woodmere middle school, Franklin Early Childhood Center in Hewlett, North Woodmere Park and the Atlantic Beach Bridge field.
