Inwood-based Five Towns Mason Material has been an integral part of the Five Towns since 1993, selling building materials to homeowners and contractors.
Located at 15 Taft Ave., the company sells building materials such as paving stones, marble, brick, sand, and cement, everything the homeowner or contractor needs, according to sales manager Susan Masone-Myles.
“We are a family owned and operated business that has been servicing the Five Towns for over twenty years,” she said. “Our goal is to strengthen and beautify our community one house at a time.”
Each day is different at the masonry company, according to sales manager Matthew Myles. “Not one day is the same,” he said. “It’s fun to work with the people and the projects they create, and seeing them through to completion. We are not a typical 9 to 5 operation.”
In addition to their daily work, the company also participates in the Long Island Home Show at the Nassau Coliseum every year, sharing with prospective customers what materials and services they are able to provide.

Masone-Myles’s favorite part of her job is working with the people who come to seek out her family’s company services. “I enjoy dealing with all of the amazingly talented contractors and designers within our community,” she said. “Nowadays, homeowners are incredibly involved in all aspects of their projects. There is nothing more gratifying than hearing just how relieved, happy and excited our clients are after the project is completed.”
Lawrence resident Sam Rokosz has bought supplies from Five Towns Mason Material for both the properties he owns and his own home. “They are very attentive and helpful,” he said. “I’ve gone to them for a number of different jobs, as a landlord and contractor. Originally, I went to them for something for my own house, and now I’ve used them for my various properties. Matt Myles is knowledgeable and helpful.”
Roger Sandorfi, owner of Sandorfi Brothers Hardscape Design of Lynbrook, has been dealing with Five Towns Mason Material for about 17 years ever since hearing about them through a friend, purchasing their Unilock pavers and supplies from them.
“We have a nice, personal relationship with them,” he said. “They’re always very open and honest. Their field reps will even bring what we need to our house, especially in a situation when we can’t wait for a product. They’re very accommodating.”
Myles stresses the importance of maintaining strong ties with people in the community. “Members of our community work here,” he said. “Both family and community are important to us.”
Sandorfi likes the familial relationship between his company and Five Towns Mason Materials. “I’m a family business, and they’re a family business,” he said. “It’s wonderful to work with them.”
