Nassau County police and Crime Stoppers seek the public’s help in identifying the gray four-door Toyota Corolla in the photo. The individual driving the car is wanted in connection with a pair of residential burglaries in Woodmere.
After parking in the garage of her Longacre Avenue house in Woodmere, a woman, 74, was allegedly attacked by a man who put his hand over her face and demanded her jewelry at 2:14 p.m. on Sept. 3, police said.
On Aug. 22, a similar robbery was reported, where a woman on Forest Avenue, also in Woodmere, entered her home through the garage and was accosted by a man who put her in a chokehold. He also demanded the woman’s jewelry, and he took her wallet before also fleeing on foot.
In both incidents, the man took a gold tiffany-style pear shaped ring, a Keltic weave bracelet, a wedding ring and a diamond ring.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-8477. All calls are kept confidential. There is up to a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.
