In the same year as its centennial anniversary, Lawrence Woodmere Academy also celebrated its Homecoming on Oct. 20, which was full of activities, attractions and homemade food. From noon to 3 p.m., there were carnival games, class booths, rides, and girls’ and boys’ varsity soccer games. At 4 p.m., Shelley Silbering was inducted in the school’s Hall of Fame during a ceremony in Hessel Hall that included words from 10 people, including Silbering and Headmaster Alan Bernstein. For two hours between 5 and 7 p.m., Reunion classes met in the library for appetizers and drinks, where class photos and memorabilia were on display.
