Police seek’s public help
The Nassau County Police Department and the Metropolitan Transit Authority Police Department are asking for the public’s help in locating and identifying the person or people responsible for aggravated harassment that has been occurring in Cedarhurst and Lawrence.
Since February of 2013, unknown people or persons have written anti-Semitic statements on numerous advertisement signs located on the train platform levels of the Cedarhurst and Lawrence Long Island Rail Road train stations causing damage to the property.
Crime Stoppers is asking anyone who can identify the person or people responsible, or anyone with any information about this crime, to call its toll free hotline at 1-800-244-8477, or contact the MTA Police Detective Division District No. 2 at (516) 222-6501. Refer to MTA PD case No. 13-14636.
All calls are kept confidential and there is up to a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.
“I am very, very happy they did that, it is a step in the right direction,” said Cedarhurst resident Jeffrey Leb, whose complaints about the bias graffiti led to a Herald story, “‘Chronic disease’ spawns vile messages” (Nov. 21-27).
