Police seek help in Hewlett fraud

Nassau County Crime Stoppers and the police are asking for assistance in identifying a woman, at right, sought in connection to an alleged attempted theft of gift cards valued at $800 from the CVS pharmacy store at 1220 Peninsula Blvd. in Hewlett on May 2.
According to police, the woman was in the store at 5:10 p.m. and tried to buy the gift cards with a fraudulent credit card and an out of state driver’s license that did not match her identity. When the store clerk refused to take the credit card, the woman left and was seen getting into a white Toyota sedan. A man was driving and they traveled on Mills Road towards Sunrise Highway.
Anyone with information about this incident can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-8477. All calls are kept confidential. There is a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.

Two nabbed for Cedarhurst robbery

Two Five Towns men were arrested for the alleged theft of a wallet from a vehicle on Oceanpoint Avenue in Cedarhurst on June 13 at 2:16 p.m., police said.
Andre Palmer, of Roger Avenue in Inwood, and Raytawon Wright, of Madison Avenue in Cedarhurst, both 17, allegedly took the wallet and rode off on their bicycles after seeing the vehicle’s owner watching them, according to police.
The vehicle’s owner called 911 and a short time later, a Fourth Precinct police officer saw Palmer and Wright at the intersection of Park and Linwood avenues in Cedarhurst. Wright stopped, but Palmer rode his bike around the police car and headed west on Park Avenue. He didn’t stop after being ordered to several times. Police then found Palmer on Pearsall Avenue and recovered the wallet that included a New York state driver’s license and an unspecified amount of money.
Both men were charged with grand larceny-fourth degree.

Arrests
 INWOOD- Richard Sterlin, 25, of Woodmere was arrested for possession of marijuana on Wanser Avenue at 10:20 p.m. on June 10, police said.
NORTH WOODMERE- Shakina Forbes, 20, of Far Rockaway, was arrested for shoplifting from a department store on Rockaway Turnpike at 6:20 p.m. on June 6, according to police.
OCEANSIDE- Woodmere resident Shari Albert Fleschner, 47, was arrested for shoplifting from a store on Atlantic Avenue at 3:25 p.m. on June 9, authorities said.

Grand larceny — motor vehicle
INWOOD-A white 2014 Ford E250 passenger van was stolen from a business on Sheridan Boulevard at 8 a.m. on June 4, officials said.

Criminal mischief
INWOOD-Between noon and 5:30 p.m. on June 5, property on Desibio Place was damaged, police said
