Alleged burglar’s identity sought

Nassau County Crime Stoppers and police are asking for help from the public to identify a man who allegedly burglarized the Pacific Fuel Oil Corp., located at 202 Prospect Ave. in Cedarhurst at 4:45 a.m. on April 22.

Police said that the man stole copper from the building’s cellar valued at approximately $400.

If anyone has information about this incident they should call Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 244-8477. All calls are kept confidential. There is up to a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.

Arrests

OCEANSIDESIDE- Luis E. Hernandez-Garcia, 25, of Woodmere, was arrested at the intersection of Long Beach Road and Daly Boulevard at 3:20 a.m. on Aug. 18, for driving while intoxicated, according to police.

Larceny from auto

WOODMERE-A man reported the theft of his iPhone 5, an unspecified amount of money, the center console tray and a Latin American & African-American Chaplain Association shield from his vehicle on Fiske Street between 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 15. and 7:30 a.m. on Aug. 16, police said.

Petit larceny

ATLANIC BEACH-Between 7 and 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 18, a man said his black Cruz seven-speed bicycle was taken from his backyard on Clayton Avenue, authorities said.

HEWLETT-Three pineapple plants and shovels were stolen from the backyard of a home on Hewlett Parkway between 3 p.m. and midnight, officials said.

Criminal mischief

WOODMERE-The front glass door of a house on Bridge Street was damaged between noon and 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 19, according to police. 

People named in Crime Watch items as having been arrested and charged with violations or crimes are only suspected of committing those acts of which they are accused. They are all presumed to be innocent of those charges until and unless found guilty in a court of law.
