Graffiti removed from Inwood train station

Following complaints by Five Towns residents, graffiti that included what is considered obscene language was scrubbed clean from the Inwood Long Island Rail Road station by the LIRR.
Assemblyman Todd Kaminsky (D-Long Beach) said that community members contacted him about the offending images and words and he called the LIRR. “Obscene graffiti has no place in our community, and I will continue to work with the LIRR to ensure that families have clean and safe public places.”
In an addition to commuters, the station area is also frequented by families shopping at the new Seasons Express food store on Doughty Boulevard in Lawrence. Zahava Nussbaum, a store patron, was impressed how quickly the cleanup was done. “There is usually so much red tape involved in these kinds of issues,” the Lawrence resident said. “The assemblyman made our walk to Seasons Express, and those using the train, a pleasant one.”
