Early childhood through fifth-grade students at the Hebrew Academy of the Five Towns and Rockaway (HAFTR) Lower School commemorated Israel and the Jewish state’s 68th anniversary with a family celebration on May 11.
Music, dancing, flag waving, artwork, robots and a tour of a mini-Israel were all part of the Lower School’s party. Flags were received from multiple units of the Israel Defense Forces, the robots were programmed to dance to songs about the Jewish state and students exhibited original metal artwork depicting Israeli symbols using foil, Indian ink, paint, wood and embossing tools.
