Overcast HAFTR dedicates Kassem rocket menorah

More than 100 people gathered outside of the Hebrew Academy of the Five Towns and Rockaway (HAFTR) High School on Dec. 10, for the dedication ceremony of a unique menorah built by Israeli artist Yaron Bob from Kassem rockets shot at Israel.
Dedicated on the fifth night of Hanukkah, the menorah symbolizes Israel turning “all darkness into light.” Bob’s artwork was supported by the Bokor and Segal families.
Judaic studies Principal Rabbi Gedaliah Open, HAFTR President Jason Bokor and Rabbi Dovid Fendel, of Sderot Yeshiva in Israel, spoke at the ceremony.
