Having fall family fun at the fair
Monica Rzewski/Herald
At last weekend’s Rock Hall Country Fair, Frankie Martin Jr., 9, got acquainted with one of the goats in the petting zoo. The 27th annual fair featured a variety of crafts and attractions, including a Civil War re-enactment.

Crafts, music, animals, food and history came together at the 27th annual Rock Hall Country Fair on the grounds of the historic estate at 199 Broadway in Lawrence last weekend.

The two-day event spanned seven hours on Saturday and Sunday and included a harvest market, sand art and making a scarecrow, pony rides, colonial historians and a woodworker, along with the Long Island-based 30th Virginia Infantry performing a Civil War reenactment.
