Hewlett store on Peninsula Boulevard robbed

Money, cigarettes and lottery tickets taken

At knifepoint, a man allegedly took cash cigarettes and lottery tickets from a card and gift shop on Peninsula Boulevard in Hewlett at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, police said.
The man entered the store and demanded money from the 44-year-old employee. The man surrendered the money, but then the other items were taken and the alleged thief fled, his direction unknown. No injuries were reported.
He is described as black, 5-feet, 9-inches with a medium build, dark glasses and a black mask covered his nose and mouth.
