Hewlett store robbed of cell phones and tablets
Incident similar to two that occurred in Cedarhurst in August

The T-Mobile store in the Peninsula Shopping Center in Hewlett was robbed, police said. The incident is similar to two that occurred in August.

Multiple cell phones and tablets were stolen from the T-Mobile store at 1338 Peninsula Blvd. in the Peninsula Shopping Center in Hewlett on Dec. 28 at 4:34 a.m., according to police.

After responding to the alarm, Fourth Precinct officers found that a

cinder block was thrown through the front glass window of the store.

On Aug. 12, two men wearing dark colored clothing allegedly threw a chunk of concrete through the glass door of the Radio Shack on Central Avenue in Cedarhurst. No items were reported taken, police said. Three days later, a man, similarly dressed, allegedly tossed a brick through the front glass door of the AT&T store on Rockaway Turnpike also in Cedarhurst. Again no merchandise was taken.

Police are investigating the latest incident and asking anyone with information to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-8477. All calls are kept confidential.
