Incident similar to two that occurred in Cedarhurst in August
Multiple cell phones and tablets were stolen from the T-Mobile store at 1338 Peninsula Blvd. in the Peninsula Shopping Center in Hewlett on Dec. 28 at 4:34 a.m., according to police. After responding to the alarm, Fourth Precinct officers found that a cinder block was thrown through the front glass window of the store. On Aug. 12, two men wearing dark colored clothing allegedly threw a chunk of concrete through the glass door of the Radio Shack on Central Avenue in Cedarhurst. No items were reported taken, police said. Three days later, a man, similarly dressed, allegedly tossed a brick through the front glass door of the AT&T store on Rockaway Turnpike also in Cedarhurst. Again no merchandise was taken. Police are investigating the latest incident and asking anyone with information to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-8477. All calls are kept confidential.
