Inwood Post 1582 celebrates Veterans Day

Post 1582's monument dedicated to the memory of those who served in the U.S. military.

John P. Oliveri Inwood VFW Post 1582 held its annual Veterans Day ceremony outside its headquarters at the intersection of Doughty Boulevard and Mott Avenue on Monday.

Nov. 11 marked Veterans Day, . Originally called Armistice Day, Nov. 11 celebrated the end of World War I. In 1954, Congress amended it to include soldiers from all wars.

Post Commander Joe Squitieri conducted the brief service that remembers all those that fought and died in all the nation's wars.
