Inwood argument leads to shooting, arrest

On Christmas Eve, Otis Williams, 40, of Clinton Avenue, Inwood, and his girlfriend were arguing inside his first floor apartment. He then stepped outside the residence and fired several shots into the sky from a handgun at 9:08 p.m., police said.

There were no injuries. Police arrested Williams at the scene and recovered a FEG PMK .380 gun. He is charged with criminal possession of a weapon second-degree, two counts of a criminal possession of a weapon third-degree, reckless endangerment second-degree and prohibited use of a dangerous weapon. He was arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Christmas Day.
