Jordan Fredericks named state Gatorade Player of the Year

Lawrence senior led Nassau in touchdowns and set a new county record

Lawrence High School senior Jordan Fredericks was selected as the Gatorade Player of the Year for New York State. The 5-11, 200 pound running back, which also played cornerback, rushed for 2,158 yards on 183 carries and lead all long Island football players with 37 touchdowns.
Fredericks, who has verbally committed to Syracuse, also passed for five TDs and scored 98 in his career, a Nassau County record. The First Team All-State selection helped lead the Golden Tornadoes to an undefeated 12-0 season, a fourth consecutive county championship and third straight Class III Long Island title.
A B average student, Fredericks assists disabled students in his school and volunteers with local youth sports programs. Blood drives and the Special Olympics.
