The football season is officially underway at South Side High School.
Student athletes met on the school field two weeks before the beginning of classes to start practice.
Though it’s not the first season the Cyclones are playing on the new field at the school, it’s the first year with the completed bleachers and a new press box.
Varsity Head Coach Phil Onesto, along with assistant coaches Keith Lessuk, Mike Robinson and Mike Bryan, started putting the Cyclones through their paces to get them ready for the season. They play their first game on Friday, Sept. 18 against North Shore at 5:30 p.m.
