Kulanu students help at local food pantries
Courtesy Kulanu
Garrick S. stocked the shelves of a food pantry.

Students from the Cedarhurst-based Kulanu Center for Special Services pitched in at two area food pantries following the recovery from Hurricane Sandy.

At the JCC of the Greater Five Towns pantry in Woodmere and at the Far Rockaway Achiezer, students sorted food and clothes and assisted those in need by finding goods and merchandise.

In one instance, a Kulanu student and job coach helped a woman pick out nearly an entire household of items, including sundries, clothes and paper products, bagged them and brought the bags to her car.
