Lawrence High School students have had success at DECA competitions, including this year’s fourth place finish by Victoria DiCeglio. From left were students Jonathan Rutchik, Jessica Beyer, DiCeglio and advisor Mark Albin.

Lawrence High School junior Victoria DiCeglio was awarded a top 10 medal for her fourth place finish in the Fashion Merchandising Promotion Plan category at the DECA International Competition held in Atlanta from May 2-6.
It was the best overall finish for Lawrence at DECA International since Elon Packin also placed fourth in his category, Hotel & Lodging Management, in 2011, according to Business teacher and DECA advisor Mark Albin.
Jessica Beyer and Jonathan Rutchik, also juniors, competed in the Professional Selling and Hospitality & Tourism Professional Selling categories, respectively.
Albin said, he was “very proud of the overall effort of our DECA program this year.” Lawrence has had five finalists in the past nine years.
