Man attacked and robbed in Woodmere

A 69- year-old man was assaulted and robbed by two unidentified men in Woodmere on June 18 at 4:27 a.m., according to police.

The man was walking on Lafayette Place near Central Avenue when the two men approached him, and one of them put him in a chokehold and the other grabbed his wallet and a satellite radio from the man’s pockets, police said.

The men fled in an older model sports utility vehicle going south on Central Avenue. No injuries were reported and the amount of money stolen was unspecified.
