Money and sneakers taken near LIRR station

A 57-year-old man who was walking near the Cedarhurst Long Island Rail Road station, heading south on Cedarhurst Avenue, was allegedly robbed of an unspecified amount of money and his Nike sneakers by an unidentified man at 7:05 a.m. on Sept. 26, according to police.
Fourth Squad detectives said that the man was approached from behind and told to take off his sneakers. There were no injuries and no description of the alleged thief, who took off. His direction was not known.
