Police find loaded gun and drugs in Inwood

Two men, including an Inwood resident, were arrested on Wanser Avenue in Inwood at 3:52 p.m. on Nov. 13 for allegedly having a gun and drugs, police said.
A pair of Bureau of Special Operations officers stopped the men who were in a 2011 Nissan Altima being driven by Joshua Lindsay, 25, of Whitehouse Road in Roosevelt. The police found that the passenger, Marcel Haynes, 19, of Clinton Avenue, had a fully loaded .38 caliber Smith & Wesson handgun. There was also marijuana.
Haynes was charged with criminal possession of a weapon-second degree and criminal possession of a weapon-third degree. He was arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Nov. 14.
Lindsay was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, along with multiple vehicle and traffic law violations. He was released on a desk appearance ticket. A court date is scheduled for Dec. 4.
