Police seek public’s help in Inwood robbery

Crime Stoppers and the Nassau County police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man who is sought in connection with an alleged robbery in Inwood.
On Oct. 16 at 7:52 p.m., after a Mervin Street resident parked her vehicle in her driveway the man allegedly grabbed the woman’s pocketbook as he pointed a black semi-automatic handgun at her, according to police.
She screamed for help and the man allegedly fired the gun. The bullet missed the woman. The man fled and ran heading south towards Alvin Place, police said,
He is described as black, 25-30-years-old, 160 to 180 pounds, about five-feet, 8-inches with a dark brown complexion, dark eyes and low-cut “ceaser” haircut covered by a dark hooded sweatshirt.
Anyone who can identify the man or has any information about this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-8477. All calls are kept confidential. There is up to a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.
