Rock and Wrap It Up!‘s 23rd annual Thanksgiving feast

Cedarhurst-based Rock and Wrap It Up! will hold it’s 23rd annual Thanksgiving feast at the First Congregational Church of Rockaway at 320 Beach 94th Street on Thursday, Nov. 28 from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

More than 600 meals have been served at previous events. Take out service is provided and free taxi service is available. Kosher meals are available with advanced notice. The feast is opened to all in need in the Five Towns and Rockaway communities that are still recovering from Hurricane Sandy.

Mother Kelly’s in Cedarhurst, Friendlier Pizza in Woodmere and the Seawane Club in Hewlett Harbor cooked the turkeys. Apple and Eve of Port Washington donated all of the juice. Walls’ Bakery provides cake and pasteries. Michelle and Edward Schorenstein donated all of the turkeys and hams. Bellmore-Merrick Schools and Merrill Lynch of Hewlett provide funding and volunteers. The Bagelry and Starbucks provide breakfast for morning volunteers. More than 150 volunteers have already signed up and volunteer opportunities are available from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Donations are needed to continue the vital work of Rock and Wrap It Up!
