Year in Review, April: Hewlett congregation sold its building
Congregation Beth Emeth in Hewlett, the only Reconstructionist Jewish congregation on Nassau’s South Shore, began the process to sell its 15,400-square-foot building at 36 Franklin Ave. due to declining membership. The sale gained its legally required recommendation for the State Attorney General and court approval. The building was sold for $2.4 million to Lilies International Christian Outreach, a Queens-based organization. Congregation Beth Emeth leased spaced at Central Synagogue in Rockville Centre.
