Barry Tech student inducted into national honor society

Stacey Garcia Orellana from the Hewlett-Woodmere School District, a cosmetology student at Nassau BOCES Barry Tech, was inducted into the National Technical Honor Society. This outstanding scholar earned membership in the distinguished organization through superior academic achievement, dedicated community service and the enthusiastic endorsement of her teachers.

“Nassau BOCES is extremely proud of our NTHS scholars,” Dr. Carla Theodorou, executive director of the Department of Regional Schools and Instructional Programs said in a release. “Barry Tech students have the advanced technical knowledge, integrity and maturity that will give them an advantage in new and emerging industries. Our students represent the best of what our region will need to support the growing tech industries on Long Island.”

NTHS membership is the nation’s highest honor for excellence in career and technical education. The students have consistently distinguished themselves showing exceptional qualities, such as honesty, leadership, responsibility and good character.
