Memorial Day was celebrated in Hewlett and Woodmere with the annual parade the stretched from Irving Place and Broadway in Woodmere to Hewlett High School on May 27.
Danny Gluck, the commanding officer of the volunteer auxiliary police out of the 4th Precinct that patrols the Five Towns, was this year's parade grand marshal.
Several organizations marched including the Hewlett High School marching band, Hewlett and Woodmere firefighters, Knights of Columbus, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Girls Scouts, the Hewlett-Lawrence Soccer Club and the Hewlett-Woodmere Little League.
Post-parade there were hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, danish, soda, water and ice cream in the high school parking lot.
More photos will be added and photos of the Cedarhurst-Lawrence and Inwood Memorial Day parades will be in the Nassau Herald and online.
