Driving and putting for the Inwood Buccaneers

Posted

The old saying, “A bad day of golf beats a good day at work,” was heard at the Inwood Country Club, where the Inwood Buccaneers Athletic Club held the fifth annual Frank DeCicco Memorial Golf Outing on July 16, and by the way the 72 participants slapped palms, shook hands and embraced — as family and good friends do — the adage was evident. The event honors the memory of Frank DeCicco Sr., a longtime Buccaneer booster.

There was breakfast in the Bobby Jones Grill Room, lunch on the 18-hole, par 71 course, a variety of prizes and a dinner at the club. All golfers received a goody bag that included a towel, golf balls and a water bottle.

Proceeds (still being tallied) benefits the 62-year-old athletic club that supports an array of football and cheerleading squads (being revitalized) in the fall and basketball squads in the winter, for children from six to 12. For more information, go to inwoodbuccaneers.siplay.com/site/.
